Executive Director Leadership Program

A 9-month program to give executive directors the knowledge, skills, and support they need to move their organizations forward more effectively. Designed to give executive directors organizational management and leadership development customized to the role of the executive director and tailored to their organization. The Institute’s Executive Director Leadership Program stands as the leader in executive director development for the environmental and conservation community.

The 2009 offering begins April 19-24, 2009 in CO. Apply by January 20, 2009.

Executive Director Workshop

The initial 5-day Executive Director Workshop includes skill-building, experiential learning, interactive problem-solving, and action planning.

Leadership Team Workshop

The Executive Director Leadership Program concludes with the 3-day Leadership Team Workshop for the executive director and one or more board members.

Resources, Input, and Support include:

• The 500-page Executive Director Guidebook
• Regular conference calls/ coaching
• On-going support through a network of peers

Who Should Participate?

The Executive Director Leadership Program is for executive directors (or executive directors in-training) of local, state, or regional nonprofit conservation and environmental organizations, as well as other organizations with programs working on environmental issues.
