Ohio Board University

Board University is a day-long workshop for boards of directors and executive directors to help them strengthen and focus their work.  This workshop is an excellent orientation for new board members. 

The Ohio Board University is offered in collaboration with Ohio Environmental Council and the Environmental Education Council of Ohio.

Saturday, May 31, 2008

9:30am - 4:30pm

Deer Creek Resort and Conference Center, Mt. Sterling (near Columbus), OH

Workshop Description:

Registration and Fees:

Register by May 16, 2008.

Workshop Fee: $120 for the first person from an organization; $70 for each additional person from the same organization. This fee includes the one-day workshop, all materials, and lunch.

This workshop is made possible by generous support from the Gund Foundation which allows us to offer it at a rate significantly below its estimated value of $250 per person.

Payment Instructions: You may pay by credit card (choose the "online" option on the registration form). To pay by check, send your payment (payable to ICL and noting Ohio Board University in the memo) to: Institute for Conservation Leadership, Attn. Cancellation Policy: For cancellations more than one week prior to a one-day workshop, ICL will refund the balance paid less a $30 cancellation fee. ICL provides no refund for cancellation within one week of the workshop. A $30 fee will be charged for any returned check.

Workshop Presenters:

Ben Senturia, ICL Consultant, is a long-time activist in the environmental movement. He is a consultant to not-for-profit and public interest groups, focusing on planning, fundraising, and board development. Ben is the co-author of Thinking Strategically: A Primer for Long Range Strategic Planning. He has also served as a consulting trainer for ICL’s Executive Director Leadership and Complete Fundraiser programs.

Courtney Carlson is a Program Associate on the ICL staff. She manages several initiatives including Strengthening Ohio Leaders and Organizations (SOLO) and the North Carolina Fundraising Capacity Initiative.
