Our Staff, Consultants and Board Members

It takes many hands and many hearts to preserve the environment. Dedicated people are one of our best resources. In addition to our central Institute staff, we have a network of consultants who bring their own unique backgrounds and experiences to assist us in the completion of our shared mission. We would like to introduce you to the people who are the heart and soul of the Institute for Conservation Leadership.

Consultants

The Institute works with a small network of consulting trainers who are based around the country. They work in our programs such as the Great Lakes Executive Director Development Program and the Freshwater Leadership Initiative. And in specific training programs, our trainers facilitate meetings, retreats and consultation services requested by organizations and leaders.

The Institute staff act as a "match-maker" between the services requested by an organization and between the skills, experience, location and availability of our staff and consulting trainers.

The people in the network are uniquely qualified to work with the Institute because they bring:

  • Years of hands-on experience in the hard work of building, leading, and staffing real on-the-ground organizations;
  • The personal experience of leading environmental and conservation efforts, in which most of them continue to be personally involved;
  • Proven skills in developing training that meets the needs of the leaders and organizations with whom they work;
  • Excellent listening skills and terrific meeting facilitation skills;
  • A diversity of expertise in the topics needed by organizations and leaders;
  • A holistic approach to building stronger organizations that allows them to step back from the issues at hand and help to put organizational problems in a larger perspective.
We are delighted to have such a talented and dedicated group of people working with us to serve the needs of the community.
